Not a problem! 99% of the time your dog will stay on their leash. We use the magic of photo shop to remove the leash and anything else distracting in the photo. If your dog typically wears a harness please bring a collar as well for photo time as harnesses cannot be removed.

Even if your dog is a wiggle bum we only need a split second to get the shot we need. We have tricks to get them into position and grab their attention.

This is something we will discuss in specifics during your design consultation. Photo sessions typically take place on location in Des Moines and the surrounding area. We can chose an urban setting in town or something with senary and trees. If you have a special place outside of the Des Moines metro area there may be a travel fee involved that we can discuss.

While we want to make you pup look like a seasoned pro, sessions are in reality more like organized chaos. While I have my hands on the camera and possibly a treat or squeaky, you will be needed to hold the leash and help get your pup in position. If you pup is extra focused on you as their human you may be the one waving a treat above the lens and another person will be needed to hold the leash.

We are currently limited to two dogs. The more dogs that come the more people are required to wrangle the pack. It sometimes takes a little photoshop magic to even get two dogs to look like they are perfectly posed next to each other. So while you are holding the leash of one dog, someone else will be needed to hold the leash of the other.

Absolutely! While this is dog photography, the relationship with a dog and their family is a precious one and we are happy to capture it. And yes, while we do use photoshop to edit photos, we will not be spending a lot of time to edit all the imperfections of the human form.

Weather is something that can be a challenge but also add to the uniqueness of your photos. Light rain and snow are fine to shoot in so be prepared with the right clothing and possibly a towel for your pup. If it’s hot bring plenty of water. If you are game so are we. If conditions become unreasonable we will happily reschedule.

We value your time as well as our own and understand that things can happen. Design consultations can be canceled or rescheduled at no charge. Photo sessions require a $35 reservation fee to schedule your session that is applied to your session fee. We require 24 hours notice to reschedule your session. If your session is canceled or rescheduled without 24 hours noticed your appointment fee will not be refunded to you.

The time for the design consultation, photo session itself, as well as all editing time is included in your session fee. All artwork and images are purchased separately.
